In this experience, the visitors will appreciate the beauty of the Parque Nacional, located between Arraial d’Ajuda and Trancoso. The park is no longer an area reserved only for biologists but has opened its doors to our guests.

Tour Description:
From the pousada, the trip will last about 40 minutes. The park owes its name to the tree that the Portuguese exported to give fabrics a reddish coloration. Along the trails, available in its 190 square kilometers of preserved Mata Atlântica, the guests can admire a large concentration of specimens of the Pau-Brasil tree, most of which are more than 40 meters high and many may be up to a thousand years old.

The tour of the area begins at the Visitor’s Center outside the park. Once they identify themselves at the entrance and receive information about the trip, they can choose from different experiences. The menu of activities includes itineraries for bird watching, zipline and arborism, lookouts, waterfalls, structured areas for camping, and itineraries for cyclists.

The trails are light and short, with up to 1,500 meters of extension, but lead to incredible places. One of them goes to the Mirante do Pau-Brasil, on the edge of a mountain 180 meters high, from where they can see much of the green immensity of the Mata Atlântica that covers the region.

At the end of the experience, they will return to the Visitor’s Center to go back to their hosting place.
